No one can deny the face that
any problem on any side of the world affects all the other sides. In
the past we used to say, if America sneezes the rest of the world catches
cold. Few days ago some news papers changed this say to be, if China
Sneezes Wall Street catches cold!
This is a sort of a shift in
how the economic world is viewed. Most countries now are connected together
in a way that makes economic isolation impossible.
Now - during the tough time
of European debt crisis- times are tough and those struggling to make
ends meet have focused their efforts close to home.
To fully understand the depth
and complexity of our current conundrum, we must appreciate how we got
here. An economist described the whole current situation as follows:
It is widely accepted that
we process grief in five stages: denial, anger, bargaining, sadness
and acceptance. If we apply that psychological continuum to the financial
market construct, it offers a valuable lens with which to view this
evolving crisis.
